Students Hosed Down by Fire Truck in ‘Extreme’ Canada Heat

Firefighters in North Saanich, British Columbia, opened up a firehose on middle school students on June 28, as a record-breaking heatwave continued across the Pacific Northwest.The highest temperature on record in Canada, 47.9 degrees Celsius (118.22 Fahrenheit), was seen in Lytton, British Columbia, on Monday, Environment Canada said.At least 43 local all-time records were broken in British Columbia during the heatwave, officials said.This footage was posted by the North Saanich Fire Department, and shows North Saanich Middle School students being hosed down by a fire truck before being “sent home due to the extreme heat.” Credit: North Saanich Fire via Storyful
