(Reuters) – REUTERS/Jonathan Ernst/File Photo On Tuesday, Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller expressed his optimism for the economy, and while he refrained to say when the Fed should begin hiking interest rates, he said it’s not out of the question that it may happen next year. “Before we would contemplate seriously a rate hike in 2022, the unemployment rate would have to decrease rather dramatically, or inflation would have to continue at a very high clip, but I’m not ruling it out,” Waller told Bloomberg TV in his first public comments since the Fed met earlier this month.
