REUTERS: According to outage monitoring website Downdetector, multiple users have reported an outage impacting Alphabet Inc’s search engine Google, as well as its streaming and email services. According to Downdetector, platforms such as Google, YouTube, and Gmail were down Monday evening, with users reporting trouble signing on and accessing the website in parts of North America.
According to the outage tracking website, over a thousand people were having problems with the search engine at one time, and users were also having problems with YouTube TV and Google Drive.
It was not immediately obvious what was causing the platforms to malfunction.
After business hours, Google did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.
Downdetector collects status updates from a variety of sources, including user-submitted issues on its platform, to track outages.
