The scheme will extend $100,000 worth of subsidies for entertainment venues.
The government has started accepting applications for club-houses in need of subsidy amidst the pandemic.
The scheme will grant some $100,000 subsidy to eligible holders of a valid Certificate of Compliance (CoC), issued under the Clubs (Safety Premises) Ordinance. Applications are open until 26 May.
On top of this, an additional $50,000 may be granted to CoC holders that also operate karaoke establishments, nightclubs or bars/pubs in their clubhouse premises.
Meanwhile, Mahjong/Tin Kau license holders will also receive a one-off subsidy of $100,000.
Operations of clubhouses and Mahjong/Tin Kau were disrupted as the government ordered their closure or placed stricter measures due to the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreak in November.
“The businesses of club-houses and mahjong/tin kau premises have thus been affected for a long period of time and the disbursement of a further subsidy is exceptionally arranged,” the government said.
