KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (June 29): Following the extension of Phase 1 of the movement control order (MCO) under the National Recovery Plan, the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has extended the deadlines for filing the Tax Return Form for numerous categories of taxpayers.
The effort, it stated in a statement today, is being done to offer taxpayers more time to prepare tax records and information that must be submitted to the IRB.
Individuals, partnerships, associations, deceased persons’ estates, and Hindu joint families are among the taxpayers [with a business income] involved for the year of assessment 2020; the additional time for submission of the Tax Return Form and payment of tax balances is until August 31,” according to the statement.
More specific instructions for submitting the Tax Return Form, as well as other tax matters, can be found on the IRB’s official webpage, according to the statement.
The commonly asked questions (FAQs) on tax problems during Phase 1 are available at http://www.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/faq pkp3 2.pdf, according to the statement.
All inquiries should be directed to the Hasil Care Line at 03-8911 1000 (domestic) or the HASiL Live Chat or feedback form on the IRB’s official webpage at https://maklumbalaspelanggan.hasil.gov.my/MaklumBalas/ms-my/.
