TOKYO – Consumer confidence in Japan increased in June, according to the government, following the lifting of coronavirus state-of-emergency restrictions in Tokyo and other places earlier this month. According to a Cabinet Office study, the general household attitude index, which includes views on earnings and jobs, was 37.4 in June, up from 34.1 in May.
The government raised its rating for the sentiment index, citing persistent signs of progress.
