KUALA LUMPUR, 30 JUNE: The daily Covid-19 vaccination rate in Malaysia increased to 231,733 doses yesterday (June 29), up from 197,274 doses the day before.
According to the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV), who cite data from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF), 147,783 people received their first doses yesterday, while 83,950 people received their second doses.
In Malaysia, however, the seven-day moving average of Covid-19 immunization dropped to 217,598 doses from 220,283 the day before. The government intends to provide 300,000 pills per day beginning in July and 400,000 doses per day beginning in August.
According to JKJAV, a total of 7.82 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been delivered across the country as of yesterday, with 5.61 million initial doses and 2.21 million second doses.
So far, 17.2 percent of Malaysians have received at least one treatment, with 6.8 percent having received all three doses.
Sarawak was the first state to have a population of over one million people.
Sarawak was the first state or federal territory to vaccinate over one million persons with the first dosage, inoculating 1.03 million people, or 36.6 percent of the population, as of yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur was second in terms of cumulative number of first doses provided, with 988,698, or 55.7 percent of its population, followed by Selangor, with 914,648 people, or 14 percent of its population.
In terms of second doses, Selangor had the most, with 287,127 injections provided, or 4.4 percent of its population, followed by Sarawak, with 246,259 shots administered, or 8.7 percent of its population.

The country’s new Covid-19 cases, on the other hand, rose to 6,437 yesterday, the highest in 11 days, with 2,299 infections originating from Selangor and 1,361 from Kuala Lumpur.

After testing 68,052 persons across the country, the latest instances were discovered, with a positivity rate of 9.46 percent.
Yesterday, 107 people died as a result of the coronavirus, bringing the daily death toll to double digits for the 13th day in a row. The national death toll now stands at 5,108, up from 2,867 on June 1.
For the fourth day in a row, active cases increased to 62,844 as the number of patients in critical care units (ICUs) increased to 905 from 899 the day before, with 455 requiring breathing assistance from ventilators. Continue reading
