KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 1): According to Malaysia’s Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, new Covid-19 cases increased to 6,988 today from 6,276 yesterday, owing in part to a rise in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak.
Noor Hisham stated in a tweet today that this elevated the total number of illnesses in the country to 758,967.
He claimed the number of new cases in Kuala Lumpur increased to 988 from 625 the day before, while the number of new cases in Sarawak increased to 544 from 376.
According to the Health Director-General, Selangor continues to have the most infections at 2,885, up from 2,836 yesterday.
In other news, new cases in Johor declined to 270 from 299 the day before, while those in Sabah fell to 232 from 242, he said.
