Mr. Eric Lim, Chief Executive Officer (Middle), and Mr. Tune Hee Hian, Senior Vice President – Business Development (Right) of OpenSys (M) Berhad in a Media Questions and Answers session.

Financial services, and utilities solutions provider, OpenSys has launched the all-in-one self service, X-Kiosk in collaboration with GoBiz by U Mobile, TNG Digital, dobiQueen and ECO-Shop offering prepaid reloads and bill payments services.

The service provider invested RM1.8 million into the infrastructure and software development of the self-service kiosks.

The X-Kiosk is highly independent and requires no operational involvement and all maintenance and servicing procedures, collection of cash and settlement of the X-Kiosk will be entirely undertaken by OpenSys.

“OpenSys believes the X-Kiosk is well positioned to support the Malaysian government’s MyDigital initiatives to encourage more Malaysians to adopt a digital payment lifestyle,” Chief Executive Officer of OpenSys, Eric Lim said during the launch.

The X-Kiosk will be rolled-out in three phases with every phase overseeing a distribution of 120 units of the self-service platform nationwide per phase.

The place of distributions for the self-service platform will likely be in high traffic community-based lifestyle locations such as retail outlets which include ECO-Shop and dobiQueen, convenience stores, residential buildings, universities, and colleges.

X-Kiosk also serves as an extended payment service channel without the need of brick-and-mortar investments from participating merchants.”We will look to add more billers, merchants, and e-money issuers onboard the kiosks in time. We also aim to get double digits contribution from the kiosks by the end of 2023,” he concluded.
