NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – PayPal Holdings said on Wednesday that Enrique Lores, the CEO of HP, has been added to its board of directors, starting June 29. Lores took over as HP’s CEO in 2019, after working at the company for more than 30 years, starting as an engineering intern. Soon after taking over the reins, he was pitted against Xerox Holdings Corp in a hostile acquisition war.
Xerox later backed out of the deal.
Lores was also involved in HP’s US$1.05 billion acquisition of Samsung’s printer division in 2017, as well as the split of Hewlett-Packard into two publicly traded businesses.
PayPal’s board of directors now comprises 12 members, according to the San Jose, California-based corporation.
