KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): Stella Holdings Bhd, whose shares hit limit up today, has been slapped with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia.

Its share price surged 29.5 sen or 36.65% to RM1.10 today — its highest in 21 months — with just 479,300 shares traded.

Bursa has asked the group to disclose any corporate development, rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group, and any other possible reasons for the sharp increases in its share price and volume.

Stella Holdings, which is in construction, property development and oil and gas support services, recorded a net profit of RM1.03 million for the third quarter ended Dec 31, 2020, comparable with the RM1 million it made a year ago.

For the cumulative nine months ended Dec 31, 2020, it returned to the black by registering a net profit of RM40,000, versus a net loss of RM1.28 million in the previous year’s corresponding period.
