1 Minute Read by Reuters Staff (Reuters) – LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) – Official data released on Wednesday showed that British households increased their savings dramatically in the first three months of 2021 as they were unable to spend in bars, restaurants, and many stores due to the latest round of anti-coronavirus measures. The country’s savings ratio, which measures how much money households save as a percentage of their total disposable income, increased to 19.9% in the fourth quarter of 2020 from 16.1% in the previous quarter, according to the Office for National Statistics.
