Investors digested news that the Federal Reserve would not prolong bank regulation relief as stock indices in the United States began largely lower on Friday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.55 percent dropped 48 points, or 0.2 percent, to open near 32,815, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.26 percent fell 2 points to 3,914. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.08 percent increased 18 points, or 0.1 percent, to trade near 13,134. Bond rates had fallen in the premarket session, sending stock-index futures higher, but the central bank’s decision brought yields TMUBMUSD10Y, 1.734 percent higher. FedEx Corporation FDX, +6.28 percent saw its stock soar at the open on Friday after the company disclosed quarterly results that above Wall Street estimates. Continue reading
