AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. AMC, +0.36 percent announced on Friday that Chief Executive Adam Aron’s total salary will more than double in 2020, reaching $20.93 million, up from $9.67 million in 2019. Aron was paid $1.11 million in salary, down from $1.25 million a year before, plus a $5 million bonus and $14.80 million in stock options. The large rise in pay comes after AMC’s stock fell 70.7 percent in 2020 due to issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and 41.0 percent in 2019. As a result of the trading frenzy in so-called meme stocks, the stock has soared 560.4 percent so far this year until Thursday.
