The housing market in Malibu has ticked up significantly since last year, data from Redfin shows, with the median sale price for a home in Malibu $5.6 million in January, up 140% from the sale time last year.
There were 13 homes sold in Malibu last month, up from 8 in the same month last year, and the median sale price for square foot has risen to $1,790, up 45.5%.
In Beverly Hills the market isn’t as hot, with the median sale price for a home $3.7 million last month, down 21.3% since the same month in 2023, and price-per-square foot has also dropped 6.8%, to $1,130.

Halle Berry’s Malibu Beach Home
An ultra-modern beachfront home in Malibu has been listed for $18 million by actress Halle Berry, complete with floor-to-ceiling ocean-facing windows, a marble and limestone spa-style bathroom and 5,000 square feet of living space.
Barbara Walters’s Fifth Avenue Apartment
The longtime apartment of legendary journalist Barbara Walters is back on the market—for almost $1 million less—after a prospective buyer walked away from a sale last year, Architectural Digest reported; the full-floor unit in a 1925 building on Fifth Avenue is listed for $16.9 million and includes 10-foot ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, library and five bedrooms.
Jane Fonda’s Beverly Hills Manse
A Beverly Hills mansion once called home by actress Jane Fonda and her then-partner Richard Perry has hit the market again (they first sold the house to an anonymous buyer for $8.5 million in 2017) for $10.99 million, complete with four bedrooms, six baths, a three-car garage, media room, bar, pool and meditation garden.

A Zen garden, pool, spa, sauna, fitness room, dual kitchens and guest house are included in a five bedroom, double-lot Venice Beach home listed by “True Blood” actress Anna Paquin for $8 million, which was partially built using 100-year-old wood sourced from the original cedar benches of the Hollywood Bowl.

“The Good Place” actress Jameela Jamil and her longtime partner musician James Blake have listed for sale a $7.2 million mansion in the Hollywood Hills that includes a 2,000-square-foot primary suite, elevator, theater, massage area, sauna, gym, indoor/outdoor bar, pool and professional music studio.
Keifer Sutherland’s English Tudor
An English Tudor in Los Angeles’ Atwater Village neighborhood has been listed by “Designated Survivor” and “24” actor Kiefer Sutherland for $1.8 million—the two bed, two bathroom home is 1,182 square feet and includes a gas fireplace, retro-style kitchen and small yard.
