The Federal Trade Commission’s antitrust action against Facebook Inc. FB, +4.13 percent, which sought to break up the social-networking behemoth, was rejected by a federal court on Monday. The unexpected decision might be a major setback for Washington officials aiming to rein down Big Tech’s power and influence. Apple Inc. AAPL, +1.27 percent, Amazon.com Inc. AMZN, +1.22 percent, and Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, are all up 1.27 percent.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are also looking into GOOG, -0.08% GOOGL, -0.08%.

In Monday afternoon trade, Facebook shares are up 4.5 percent.
