SEOUL — Earnings at South Korean suppliers of chipmaking materials more than doubled over four years as Japanese restrictions on exports of vital supplies spurred chipmakers like Samsung Electronics to buy locally.

Investors and industry watchers will be looking to see whether these suppliers can sustain their growth now that Tokyo has ended the additional trade curbs amid a thaw in bilateral relations.
