stock rose 3.4% in Tuesday trading after the retailer reported fourth-quarter earnings that beat expectations and gave upbeat guidance. Net income totaled $91.5 million, or 97 cents per share, up from $17.3 million, or 24 cents per share, last year. Adjusted EPS of $1.09 was more than double the FactSet consensus of 50 cents per share. Sales totaled $1.60 billion, up from $1.37 billion last year and also ahead of the FactSet consensus for $1.58 billion. Comparable sales rose 16.1%, beating the FactSet consensus for 14.1% growth. For 2021, Academy is guiding for comparable sales in the range of a 2% decline to a 2% rise and EPS of $2.70 to $2.95. The Factset consensus is for a comparable sales decline of 3.3% and EPS of $2.39.
