(Reuters) – PARIS, July 5 (Reuters) – According to industry insiders and monitoring data, Europe’s Airbus (AIR.PA) delivered more than 70 planes in June, bringing first-half deliveries close to 300. Airbus delivered a total of 220 planes between January and May, a 38 percent increase over the same period in 2020, which was heavily impacted by coronavirus lockdowns beginning in late March. According to the sources, June’s performance puts the first-half total comfortably above 290 and is one of the best monthly totals since the epidemic began, trailing only a peak of 89 in December 2020. Prior to the release of first-half deliveries on Thursday, Airbus declined to comment. Tim Hepher contributed reporting, and Louise Heavens edited the piece.
