KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 1): Starting today, the RM300,000 allocation for each member of Parliament to implement the Food Basket Aid program through the National People’s Well-Being and Economic Recovery Package (PEMULIH) has been delivered. The allocation for the Gerik and Batu Sapi Parliamentary constituencies will be channeled through the Hulu Perak District and Land Office and Sandakan Municipal Council, respectively, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
“Following Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s announcement of the PEMULIH package on June 28, the existing Food Basket program will be extended and upgraded to fulfill the requirements of the impacted populations.”
“This funding will be used to strengthen the existing Food Basket program, ensuring a more inclusive and successful implementation to target populations across the country,” according to the statement.
On June 28, the Prime Minister said that RM300,000 will be distributed to each Member of Parliament, including those in the Opposition, to deliver Food Basket Aid to their constituents who had been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
The RM150 billion PEMULIH program is a continuation of the Perikatan Nasional government’s seven humanitarian and economic stimulus measures totaling RM380 billion since the Covid-19 outbreak broke out early last year./nRead More
