Ethan Brown, CEO of Beyond Meant Inc. (NASDAQ: BYND), is on a goal — no, a crusade — to produce plant-based products that perfectly mimic their meat-based counterparts.
What happened was this: Brown stated in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that his product line has yet to be confused for the animal products it is meant to replace.
He remarked, “The real challenge for us is to make each of our platforms – beef, pork, and poultry – indistinguishable from animal protein.”
“What is the best way to prepare a raw chicken breast with translucent skin and a color transition? Steak, with its fat and protein distribution and, of course, bacon? The holy grail is comprised of those three items.”

He said, “You can insist that meat must come from a chicken, cow, or pig.” “Alternatively, you can concentrate on the meat’s composition. I believe we have the right to call it that if we can distribute amino acids, lipids, trace minerals, vitamins, and water in the same design as an animal’s muscle, albeit plant-based.”
What’s Next: Brown’s interview with the Wall Street Journal on July 7 was followed by an unexpected surprise on the Beyond Meat Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) page, which hinted at a huge announcement on July 8.
