Bitcoin rose 4.99 per cent to $23,319 at 1959 GMT on Wednesday, adding $1,108 to its previous close.
Bitcoin, the world’s biggest and best-known cryptocurrency, was up 41.4 per cent from the year’s low of $16,496 on Jan. 1.
Ether, the coin linked to the ethereum blockchain network, rose 4.63 per cent to $1,628.7 on Wednesday, adding $72.1 to its previous close.
