KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 8): Following the recent high jump in Y&G Corp Bhd’s share price and trading volume, Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has filed an unusual market activity (UMA) question to the company.
This is the second time this year that the property development and investment services firm has received a UMA question from the exchange. On May 20, the first one was released.
“When making an investment choice, investors are recommended to take note of the company’s response to the UMA question, which will be posted on Bursa Malaysia’s website under the Company Announcements,” the exchange said in a statement today.
The exchange asked Y&G if there has been any corporate development relating to its business and affairs that has not been previously announced, or if there have been any rumours or reports concerning the group’s business and affairs, as well as any other possible explanation for the trading activity, in the UMA query.
The stock exchange regulator also inquired about the company’s compliance with Bursa Securities’ prompt disclosure responsibilities.
Y&G shares climbed 21.88 percent, or 28 sen, to RM1.56 at 3.15 p.m., with 2.66 million shares traded.
