KUALA LUMPUR, 13 JULY: The Bursa Malaysia managed to hold on to its previous gains to conclude the morning trading session on a high note, aided by continued buying support among mid and small-cap stocks. The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.3 percent or 4.53 points higher at 1,517.42 at 12.30 p.m., up from 1,512.89 at the closing on Monday.
The market’s leading indicator opened 0.94 point higher at 1,513.83 and fluctuated between 1,513.54 and 1,520.03 throughout the session.
Gainers outnumbered losers 413 to 390 on the broader market, with 454 counters unchanged, 971 untraded, and nine others suspended.
2.44 billion units worth RM1.2 billion were sold.
The FBM KLCI is projected to remain choppy in the near term, according to Maybank IB Research, as the bullish and bearish battle intensifies.
The benchmark index is expected to trade between 1,500 and 1,530 today, with supports between 1,495 and 1,450, according to the report.
Malayan Banking Bhd grew four sen to RM8.10, while Public Bank Bhd and IHH Healthcare Bhd remained unchanged at RM4.08 and RM5.64, respectively. Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd increased three sen to RM8.07, but Tenaga Nasional Bhd declined one sen to RM9.67.
Pasukhas Group Bhd increased 5.5 sen to 34.5 sen among the actives, while Vsolar Group Bhd remained unchanged at 1.5 sen.
Ramssol Group Bhd, an ACE Market debutant, saw its shares rise 6.5 sen to 51.5 sen.
The share price of the human capital management solutions and technology company opened at 70 sen, up 55.6 percent from its initial public offering price of 45 sen.
Genetec Technology Bhd, which jumped RM2.26 to RM18.96, was the top gainer, followed by Hartalega Holdings Bhd and Y&G Corp Bhd, which each gained 26 sen to RM7.12 and RM1.34, respectively.
The FBM Emas Index was 32.88 points higher at 11,036.58, the FBMT 100 Index was 33.45 points wider at 10,755.1, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index was 52.48 points higher at 12,061.98 on the index board.
The FBM ACE rose 81.25 points to 7,103.84, while the FBM 70 gained 49.84 points to 14,272.08.
The Financial Services Index increased 14.54 points to 14,949.09, while the Industrial Products and Services Index up 0.63 of a point to 186.43, and the Plantation Index fell 4.17 points to 6,237.85./nRead More
