KUALA LUMPUR (July 15): At midday today, Bursa Malaysia maintained its upward trend, owing to improving sentiments following Malaysia’s highest Covid-19 immunization rate on Wednesday (July 14).
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.52 percent or 7.83 points higher at 1,520.15 at 12.30 p.m., compared to the close of 1,512.32 on Wednesday.
During the morning trading session, the market bellwether opened 0.25 of a point higher at 1,512.57 and traded between 1,511.6 and 1,521.98.
Gainers outnumbered losers 533 to 311 on the broader market, with 456 counters remaining unchanged, 928 untraded, and 18 others suspended.
The number of units sold grew to 2.78 billion, worth RM1.55 billion.
