July 16 (Reuters) – Canada’s main stock index opened slightly higher on Friday, with energy shares leading gains, while upbeat domestic wholesale trade data for May further bolstered sentiment.

* At 9:32 a.m. ET (13:32 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 10.1 points, or 0.05%, at 20,193.82.
