KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (June 28): After 26 workers tested positive for Covid-19, CB Industrial Product Holding Bhd (CBIP) announced a second temporary shutdown of its manufacturing facility in Telok Panglima Garang, Selangor, from June 21 to July 4.
This comes after PalmitEco Engineering Sdn Bhd, the plant’s wholly-owned subsidiary, conducted screening tests on its local and foreign staff and discovered 26 positive cases.
“The impacted plant is temporarily closed to carry out disinfection and sanitization operations,” CBIP stated in a bourse filing.
Other manufacturing sites, according to the company, are unaffected and working normally.
“The temporary halt is not expected to have a material impact on CBIP’s revenue and profitability for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021 (FY21),” the company noted.
Today, CBIP’s share price fell one sen, or 0.83 percent, to RM1.20, valuing the company at RM582.78 million.
CBIP temporarily closes down its factory in Telok Panglima Garang after 45 employees tested positive for Covid-19.
