Users on Twitter reported similar issues, while Downdetector, a service used to track outages and issues with popular apps, also showed a spike in users reported issues with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT suffered a massive global outage on Tuesday – it was down for nearly 3 hours.

While the service seems to be working for some, netizens continue to report issues. We also tried accessing the service again, and were greeted with this error: “We’re experiencing exceptionally high demand. Please hang tight as we work on scaling our systems.”

The ChatGPT website alternatively also showed this error message: “Failed to get service status.”
