SHANGHAI: China’s central bank’s Beijing office announced on Tuesday that it has ordered the closure of a Beijing-based software firm due to its alleged involvement in cryptocurrency trading. The Beijing financial supervision administration and a department of the People’s Bank of China announced in a statement that authorities had ordered Beijing Qudao Cultural Development Co Ltd to cease operations and that its website had been disabled.
Companies in Beijing should not provide venues, commercial displays, or promotion for cryptocurrency-related operations, according to the statement.
