KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 2): Except for those under the Enhanced Movement Control Order, Commissioner for Oaths offices are allowed to operate during Phase One of the Movement Control Order under the National Recovery Plan (PPN) (EMCO). The matter was decided by the National Security Council (MKN) after taking into account that the offices play an important role in providing support to the real estate and banking sectors, as well as all matters relating to contracts and transactions, according to Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement.
Court proceedings for criminal matters were also permitted during this time, he noted, with the exception of areas under EMCO.
“For civil matters, including tribunal cases, proceedings are authorized to be held remotely, including in EMCO territories,” he said in a statement released today on the PPN and EMCO.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri stated that the government would increase enforcement in terms of factory and business premises inspections because too many infractions of laws and regulations, as well as standard operating procedures, had been detected.
Ismail Sabri elaborated, saying that 132,633 company sites, industries, and workers’ hostels were inspected between June 25 and yesterday, with 726 of them being compounded and 75 being ordered to close.
He said that yesterday alone, 2,719 factories, 15,981 company locations, and 94 workers’ hostels were inspected, with five factories and ten business premises being ordered to close after violating the government’s directives and SOP.
Following a spike in Covid-19 instances in the area, Ismail Sabri declared that the EMCO would be enforced on Malang anak Bada Longhouse, Sungai Bayan, Mukah, Sarawak, from Sunday to July 17.
He added that the EMCO was also imposed on the Jimat Jaya Sdn Bhd factory, the Bukit Makmur industrial area, and the workers’ hostel at No 1, Jalan Seroja 3/2, Taman Seroja, Sungai Lalang, Kuala Muda, Kedah, as well as two villages in Kota Belud, Sabah, namely Kampung Siasai Dundau and Kampung Pantai Emas.
Kampung Naruntung, Pitas, Sabah; Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang, Tawau, Sabah; Taman Nagasari, Mukim 6, Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang; and Kampung Babagon, Penampang, Sabah are all under EMCO for the same duration.
Meanwhile, he announced that the EMCO in Kampung Gusi Kinarut, Papar, Sabah, which was set to finish today has been extended until July 17.
Ismail Sabri said the EMCO in Semarak, Tawau, Sabah, and Kuala Lumpur’s Desa Rejang PPR flats will expire at midnight tonight, while the EMCO in Putatan’s Kampung Pasir Putih PPRT flats will end tomorrow.
The EMCO in Gabriel Bujang anak Ikau Longhouse in Sungai Lepah, Tanjung Manis, Mukah, Sarawak, and Kampung Skim Pamalan, Keningau, Sabah, will end ahead of schedule at midnight tomorrow./nRead More
