Carnival Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia suspended cruises in and out of Australia on Wednesday, citing uncertainty over the resumption of cruise vacations. Cruise ships were the source of the majority of Australia’s early Covid-19 cases, therefore they were barred from entering the nation in March 2020. Last month, the restrictions were extended until September 17. P&O Cruises Australia said in a statement that the industry has been in discussions with the Australian government and public health authorities about resuming domestic-only cruising since last October.
