KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 5): DHL Express, a logistics company, delivered about one million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to Malaysia today as part of the US government’s recent promise to help with recovery efforts throughout the world.
This cargo was made possible by the COVAX global vaccine sharing program, which aims to increase global equitable access to pandemic immunisation.
“As DHL Express continues to leverage our global network and strong medical logistics expertise to ensure that these life-saving vaccines arrive safely and promptly, we must also remind ourselves of the importance of collaboration among various parties and countries to effectively manage this public health crisis,” said Ken Lee, DHL Express CEO for Asia-Pacific.
The vaccines were collected from facilities in the United States before being airlifted from DHL Express’s Cincinnati hub to its Subang gateway, where they were distributed to specific locations in Kuala Lumpur. The travel took only four days from start to finish, and it was completed in strict accordance with all handling and storage standards.
Julian Neo, managing director of DHL Express for Malaysia and Brunei, said, “To far, DHL has shipped more than 300 million doses of authorized vaccines worldwide, five million of which were to Malaysia.” “Today’s cargo signifies another step forward in the fight against Covid-19 and aiding the country’s recovery.”/nRead More
