What Happened: According to Variety, Disney (NYSE: DIS) stated Monday that the monthly and annual membership pricing for ESPN+ will increase starting on August 13th.
ESPN+ will now cost $6.99 per month and $69.99 per year, compared to $5.99 per month and $59.99 per year previously.
Why Does This Matter? Since its launch in 2018, ESPN+ has supplied fans with exclusive material such as ESPN expert mock drafts, Matthew Berry’s Love/Hate for fantasy football, and much more. ESPN+ has also worked with firms like UFC (NYSE: EDR) to provide discounted pay-per-view packages.
ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu are among the three exclusive content channels offered by Disney. It’s unclear whether this bundle will continue to exist, or if the price will rise as a result.
DIS Disney’s stock finished the day 4.16 percent higher at $184.38 on Monday.
