Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA), announced that the latest beta version of the company’s vision-based full-self-driving software will be released on Saturday.
What happened was this: Musk revealed intentions to launch the limited beta v9 version this week, with the possibility of expanding it to the general public in a “month or so,” according to a series of tweets.
The Palo Alto, California-based business has handed out its FSD beta program to a select group of testers, who have demonstrated the car’s ability to perform amazing maneuvers such as evading a deer on muddy roads.
According to Musk, the updated FSD screen in beta v9 would seek to “reveal the car’s mentality.”

Why Does It Matter? On Twitter, Musk has been touting the new update. He announced earlier this week that the latest version of the entire self-driving software release will have a new user interface, dubbed the “thought of car view,” as well as a new user interface.
Tesla recently discontinued the use of radar sensors in favor of webcams. Musk has claimed that camera-based vision is more precise than radar, prompting criticism from those who believe that such a system would struggle in low-light situations such as dark places, bad weather, and glare from the sun.
