KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 4): From July 6 to 19, the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) would be implemented in two Sabah locations and one Kelantan location, according to Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. In Sabah, the EMCO includes Kampung Jambatan Baru, Membakut in Beaufort, and Block 6, Kampung Titingan di Tawau, according to him.
“In Kelantan, the EMCO will cover the Lepan Kabu (A and B) Plantation quarters as well as a portion of Kampung Pahi, specifically the region adjoining the plantation’s quarters in Kuala Krai.”
“The EMCO’s implementation is targeted at limiting travel and the transmission of Covid-19 infections to areas at risk from the afflicted localities,” he stated in a statement today about the National Recovery Plan and the EMCO.
According to Ismail Sabri, EMCO deployment was decided after a risk assessment by multiple agencies in the MCO Technical Committee and on the suggestion of the Ministry of Health.
He also announced that the EMCO in Sabah, which was supposed to terminate tomorrow in Kampung Jaya Baru, Kunak, and Kampung Serudung Baru, Tawau, had been extended till July 19.
He stated that the EMCO will terminate at 11.59 p.m. tomorrow (July 5) in four locations in the Tenglu subdistrict of Mersing, Johor, and five housing areas in Mentakab, Pahang, as planned.
The EMCOs at Nabawan’s Kampung Pulutan, Kalabakan’s Ladang Brumas, and Kota Kinabalu’s Taman Wijaya Park will all be shut down at the same time tomorrow, as planned.
