KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 5): From Wednesday until July 20, the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be in place in Kampung Bagus, Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and Kampung Baru Batu 2, Jalan Apas, Tawau, Sabah. Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), said the government concurred with agencies in the MCO Technical Committee and on the advice of the Health Ministry (MOH).
“The deployment of EMCO aims to make it easier for MOH to conduct screenings, control movement, and prevent illness from spreading from one danger region to another,” he stated today in a statement on the National Recovery Plan and EMCO.
Meanwhile, he claimed EMCO was extended till July 20 in many places, including Sungai Udang Prison (excluding Prison Quarters) in Melaka Tengah, Melaka, as well as Kampung Ejuk and Kampung Warisan in Kota Belud and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
From Wednesday through July 13, the EMCO at the Balingian Power Generation employees quarters, Jalan Sibu-Mukah, Mukah, Sarawak, will be extended.
Ismail Sabri also stated that EMCO will be lifted at 11:59 p.m. tomorrow in various places, including Kilang Sawit Cahaya Muda in Batang Padang, Perak, as well as Blok 11, Kampung Titingan, and Batu 7 Jalan Tinagat in Tawau, Sabah.
Simultaneously, he announced that EMCO would end earlier in several areas, including the Rumah Panjang Alat anak Mukan and Mukah Palm Oil Mill workers’ quarters in Bukit Dinding, Mukah, Sarawak (due to end on July 13), and nine longhouses in Sungai Rassau, Batang Igan, Mukah, Sarawak (due to end on July 13). Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri claimed that the Compliance Operations Task Force ordered six factories and 12 business sites to close yesterday for violating government orders and the standard operating procedure (SOP) on Covid-19.
