KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 7): The Malaysian stock exchange (Bursa Malaysia) began lower today, after the worse Wall Street performance overnight, on fears about the approaching US Federal Reserve tapering.
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) fell 2.73 points to 1,528.9 at 9.08 a.m., after closing at 1,531.63 on Tuesday.
At 1,530.96, the market bellwether opened 0.67 of a point lower.
Losers outnumbered gainers 209 to 142 on the broader market, with 272 counters unchanged, 1,556 untraded, and 10 others suspended.
