KUALA LUMPUR, 14 JULY: GDEX Bhd (previously GD Express Carrier Bhd) announced today that it has launched its Data Recovery and Security Mitigation Plan in response to a recent cybersecurity breach on its finance system. GDEX said in a statement today that preliminary investigations have revealed no evidence of confidential information, including client data, being leaked.

“GDEX is completely collaborating with authorities.” The incident has been reported to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and a police report has been filed,” it stated.
It went on to say that immediate and suitable procedures had been taken to reinforce current security checks and safety measures had been implemented to prevent any future cybersecurity breaches.
“We’ve always taken cybersecurity seriously, spending a lot of money on the essential technology and solutions.” We have unfortunately been the victim of an attack, despite the security safeguards and processes in place. “I want to reassure our clients that their data is safe and secure. At the same time, we are taking quick and appropriate steps to strengthen existing security checks and safety measures in order to prevent further cybersecurity intrusions,” said Teong Teck Lean, managing director and group chief executive officer of GDEX.
