Reuters, July 6 – The FTSE 100 index in London edged higher on Tuesday, powered by heavyweight energy and mining sectors, with Ocado leading the way after reaching a new arrangement for its software company. Ocado, a British online grocer and technology company, increased by 1.1 percent after announcing a new arrangement with Auchan Retail to leverage its technology to grow Alcampo’s online operation in Spain. Energy heavyweights BP and Royal Dutch Shell, as well as miner BHP Group, led the FTSE 100 higher by 0.1 percent. The domestic mid-cap index remained unchanged. Sainsbury’s, a British supermarket chain, climbed 0.2 percent after beating first-quarter sales projections, though growth slowed abruptly.
