KUALA LUMPUR (May 20): Genetec Technology Bhd has secured RM41.2 million in new orders from existing customers.

In a filing today, the group said RM35.3 million of the orders come from electric vehicle and battery players, and RM5.9 million from hard disk drive, electronics and semiconductor players.

The tenure of the projects normally ranges from three to nine months, depending on the size of the order and time frame specified by customers, it said.

“Scope of works will involve but not limited to concept design and detailed drawing, order and receiving of component parts, system fabrication and assembly, software coding and programming, factory set-up & system testing and lastly installation, commissioning and acceptance by customers,” it added.

Genetec said the orders are expected to positively contribute to its earnings for the financial year ending March 31, 2022.

Shares in Genetec closed 2.96% or 11 sen higher at RM3.83, valuing the group at RM175.12 million. The counter saw 309,100 shares traded.
