BERLIN – A German regional body said it was considering fining Tesla for illegal construction on the site of its planned new vehicle factory near Berlin. The environment ministry of Brandenburg, the state that surrounds Berlin and where the factory will be built, discovered that Tesla had built tanks on public land without permission, according to Tagesspiegel, the newspaper that originally reported the fine.
The company was also forbidden from using the tanks it had previously manufactured, according to the newspaper.
Tesla did not respond to a request for comment right away.
