KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 1): According to Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, the government has approved wage subsidy applications totaling RM1.283 billion under the Wage Subsidy Programme (PSU) 2.0 as of June 18. He stated that money has been distributed to 75,262 employers in order for them to continue to operate and employ 659,066 people.
According to him, a total of 137,659 employees have gotten jobs through the Recruitment Incentive and Training Assistance Program.
Manufacturing, as well as wholesale and retail trade, are among the primary businesses and sectors that employ individuals, according to the 59th Implementation and Coordination Unit Between National Agencies (LAKSANA) report released today.
Tengku Zafrul said that as of June 18, the total applications authorized by local banks and accepted by SMEs for the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Soft Loan Fund totaled RM12.14 billion.
According to him, it will assist a total of 25,711 SMEs.
“Even if the SRF fund has been entirely utilized, SMEs can still apply for financing schemes accessible through the BNM Fund, such as the ADF, AES, and AF,” he stated.
