KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 3): Even though they were ordered open countrywide on July 1, government service counters in locations under the enhanced mobility control order (EMCO) would be closed.
The shutdown order is exempted for health services, police stations, and international entry ports that entail customs, immigration, and quarantine procedures, according to Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), has stated that the EMCO will be implemented in many sub-districts (mukim) in Selangor and several locations in Kuala Lumpur from now till July 16.
“In accordance with the directive, the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for government office operations in the affected areas during the EMCO will be based on the directive on government office operations issued on May 30 (Operation of Government Offices During Phase 1 of the Movement Control in the National Recovery Plan),” he said in a statement today.
Following the announcement of the first phase of the comprehensive lockdown of the social and economic sectors nationwide, Mohd Zuki said in a statement on May 30 that the civil service would fully execute the work from home (WFH) policy.
The directive, he claimed, is targeted at decreasing individual face-to-face interaction in order to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
