Approved applicants can now travel between the city and Guangdong starting 1 June.
Private vehicle owners in Hong Kong can now apply for the Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles which allows travel between the city and Guangdong.
Approved applicants can travel between Hong Kong and Guangdong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) starting 1 July.
To ensure the orderly implementation of the travel scheme, both local governments of Hong Kong and Guangdong agreed to set a cap on the number of applicants they would accept at the initial stages of the scheme.
Only 200 applications will be accepted per working day during the launch week. In the weeks after, the government will accept 300 applications per working day. Applicants will be chosen through computer balloting.

Private vehicle owners must register for the computer balloting via the scheme’s website. The first round of registration is from 29 May to 30 May. The government will release the results on 31 May.
“Successful applicants of balloting can submit applications for the scheme within the designated date and time randomly allocated by computer system starting from 9 am on June 1,” the government said.After obtaining relevant licenses for the scheme, travellers may book their travel within a designated period in the subsequent month using the online booking system, starting from the middle of each month.
