WASHINGTON: The hackers suspected of being behind a massive ransomware attack that hit hundreds of firms around the world late Sunday demanded $70 million in exchange for the data’s release. REvil cybercrime gang placed the demand on their blog. The letter appeared to be genuine, according to Allan Liska of cybersecurity firm Recorded Future, and the blog has been used by that organisation since last year.
