Because Independence Day occurs on a weekend this year, the financial markets in the United States will be closed on Monday.

On Tuesday, July 6, the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq will resume normal trading hours.

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association advised that the bond market in the United States close on Monday as well. The commodities markets in the United States, including gold and oil futures, will also be closed on Monday. On Monday, July 5, foreign financial markets will be open. Trading in the currency markets is expected to continue. Labor Day, which comes on September 6, is the following market holiday.
