TOKYO: A company representative said on Friday that Japan Petroleum Exploration Co (Japex) is examining several options for its Hangingston oil sands project in Canada, including a sale. Two sources with intimate knowledge of the situation previously told Reuters that Japex is looking for a buyer for its 75 percent ownership in the Hangingstone project.
“We’re evaluating a variety of options, including selling our stake and decreasing production costs to boost the project’s profitability,” Yuki Goto, a Japex representative, told Reuters by phone.
