(July 7) JOHOR BAHRU: Under Phase One of Movement Control under the National Recovery Plan, a special committee will be formed to investigate complaints received from the European Union-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Eurocham Malaysia) and the business community on standard operating procedures (SOPs) (NRP). The concept of forming a special committee was proposed by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad after the State government received numerous complaints regarding the complexity and contradictions of the specified SOPs to combat the proliferation of Covid-19.
He said that by forming the committee, the State government will be able to uncover the causes and take steps to assist investors, particularly international firms in Johor, in resolving their issues.
“Previously, I met with the industry and Eurocham Malaysia to discuss a number of critical concerns, including the inconsistency of the SOPs that are now enforced, and they need the state government’s assistance to reduce misunderstanding at the enforcement level.”
“For that, this special committee will identify any challenges they experience and we will find a solution,” he told reporters today at Sultanah Aminah Hospital after handing over three ventilators to the Johor State Health Department.
According to recent reports, the chamber has stated that it will continue to expand communication efforts with European Union industry participants to guarantee that all SOPs are understood by its members, allowing for full compliance./nRead More
