Bauer’s apparel has been pulled off the official Major League Baseball branded web site run by the e-commerce company Fanatics, as well as the Dodgers’ online store. The 30-year-old pitcher, who denies wrongdoing, was placed on a seven-day administrative leave last Friday as a result of the investigation, despite the Dodgers’ insistence that he would continue to pitch in their rotation despite the woman’s horrific allegations. “With the Players Association’s consent, MLB has extended Trevor Bauer’s Administrative Leave for a another 7 days, which will begin tomorrow,” MLB said in a statement. “MLB’s inquiry is still underway.” The Dodgers have refused to comment on the news. Bauer’s bobblehead night, which had been slated for Aug. 19, was canceled by the team on Wednesday. Bauer’s agency did not respond to a request for comment right away. Bauer, who pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and won the National League Cy Young Award in 2020, is one of baseball’s highest-paid players. He signed a three-year contract with the World Series champion Dodgers this year, with a total value of $102 million. Bauer’s departure was revealed on the same day that President Joe Biden joined the Dodgers at the White House to celebrate their World Series victory. Bauer choked his accuser into unconsciousness during two sexual meetings this spring, according to a recent application for a court-issued restraining order. She also claimed that he repeatedly hit her in the face and genitals during one encounter, damaging her so badly that she was sent to the hospital. She further claims that during one of the encounters, he engaged in sexual behavior with which she had not agreed. In a statement to CNBC this week, Bauer’s agent, Jon Fetterholf, claimed, “Beginning in April 2021, Mr. Bauer had a brief and entirely consensual sexual relationship with [the woman]. We have messages that show [the woman] constantly requesting ‘rough’ sexual encounters, such as being ‘choked out’ and slapped in the face.”/nRead More
