KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (July 8): Following a spike in Covid-19 cases in Selangor, the Malaysian Armed Forces will construct a new field hospital at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang.
The action, according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, was made to enhance Selangor’s health-care readiness and to assist the Ministry of Health (MOH) in dealing with the state’s current Covid-19 pandemic issue.
“To date, the Ministry of Health has confirmed that average daily cases in Selangor have demonstrated a rapid growth trend in the last 14 days, with the number of clusters growing.”
“In light of this situation, the government has consented to establish another field hospital at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang,” he said today in a statement on the National Recovery (PPN) initiatives.
Selangor continued to have the largest daily number of Covid-19 cases, with 4,152 of the 8,868 new cases reported today in the state.
